For the past several years, a highlight for LOAA members has been volunteering to serve meals at the City of Oakland’s Annual Thanksgiving Dinner. This year’s 30th Annual Dinner will look very much like last year's event, and we will continue do our best to make it special for those less fortunate.

Again, event organizers are taking all the precautions to make sure that volunteers are safe – the dinners will be prepared by the staff at the Marriott, packed by a limited number of masked and gloved volunteers, then delivered to a number of community organizations throughout the city. What has not changed, is that with your help, we will bring smiles and a holiday turkey feast with all the trimmings to more than 2,000 low-income families, individuals, homeless and senior citizens.

Volunteers will be packing dinners on Tuesday, November 23, at the Oakland Marriott, located at 1001 Broadway. The shift is from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Please register by 5 p.m. on DAY, Nov. DATE??. Each volunteer MUST register for the Thanksgiving event. Walk-up volunteers will not be granted entry. 

To provide the safest possible experience for our alumni, LOAA requires all volunteers to be fully vaccinated to participate in this event.
